Challenge

Organic cotton uses 91% less water and 62% less energy than conventional farming, with no pesticide pollution and less damage to the environment. CottonConnect wants to support cotton farmers to switch to organic.

Solution

Launched creative digital campaign with report ‘Planting the Seed: The Role of Organic in Creating a Sustainable Cotton Supply Chain’ highlighting progress, commitment and impact of switching to organic cotton. Supported by farmer stories.

Result

Built profile among influencers and opinion formers with > 1,000,000 engagements on Twitter. Integrated social media campaign generated over 1,000 report downloads.

Impact

Engagement with C&A Foundation and new brands, Target and SuperDry, signed up to trial organic cotton programme. Organic cotton contributes towards the UN SDGs by improving livelihoods and reducing poverty.
