Testimonial

Greenhouse brought energy, insight and a results-driven attitude to our plastic free periods campaign, helping drive momentum throughout. The collaboration between our team and Greenhouse was very fluid and easy. We’ve achieved national coverage on a topic we feel passionate about, and even better, we had fun along the way!

Challenge

Around 700,000 panty liners, 2.5 million tampons and 1.4 million sanitary towels are flushed down the toilet every day. We developed a campaign to raise awareness of the impact that flushing period products has on our marine environment and encourage consumers to use plastic-free alternatives.

Solution

Partnered with Marine Conservation Society to release statistics on the volume of sanitary products polluting our coastline coinciding with #PlasticFreeJuly. Launched the campaign with a plastic period protest march on Brighton beachfront. Developed impactful social media campaign featuring engaging video and infographics.

Result

40+ pieces of coverage including features in The Independent, Mirror, Huffington Post, Elle, Yahoo, Sky Radio, The Pool and Pebble magazine. Campaign film received over 75,000 views.

Impact

Increased public awareness across media and social channels with vocal support from marine conservation stakeholders.
