Join our campaign to raise money to support leading food redistribution charity FareShare, working with 11,000 charities providing food for vulnerable people in lockdown.
In a time of national crisis we wanted to offer our skills pro bono to help scale impact. We worked alongside FareShare this week to launch a campaign asking for donations and recruiting new volunteers to distribute food to people in need.
FareShare is an awesome and inspiring charity established to provide food to people living in poverty and vulnerable communities. Today FareShare’s work matters now more than ever.
Our Greenhouse team mobilised in just three days, to create and launch a campaign to profile the work of Fareshare and issue a call for help. We provided a press office function, set-up media interviews, created social media graphics and worked with celebrities to lend a hand – from footballer Marcus Rashford to singer, Alexandra Burke, and next week with Jamie Oliver.
The response and the impact so far has been incredible. FareShare’s campaign has already generated an additional £200,000 of new funding which could provide 400,000 meals for vulnerable children across the UK. And 1000s of people have signed-up to deliver food to communities in need.
With Fareshare, the team generated amazing media coverage and found huge support from the media – from broadcast, print and online titles, who have all jumped on board.
Highlights include BBC Breakfast, BBC GNS radio news, The Mirror, The Guardian, Time Out, Good Housekeeping and many more, and a new media partnership running for a week with the Daily Mail.
The BBC Radio 4 Food Programme also plans to run a special feature documenting a day in the life of a FareShare delivery driver. It is wonderful to see the commitment and the work of the FareShare team being celebrated for what they do each and every day.
The results have lifted the spirits of a very busy FareShare team and it has energised and encouraged our team who were so excited and delighted to see the great results achieved delivering real impact for such an amazing organisation.

But, there is still so much more to do. With a nation in lockdown for the foreseeable future, FareShare’s food distribution will continue to be essential in the weeks and months ahead.
FareShare works with 17 partner organisations to provide a million meals a week to 11,000 frontline charities and community groups supporting vulnerable people. This includes, those experiencing homelessness, mental health, domestic violence, loneliness and families using breakfast, after school and holiday clubs to make ends meet.
The success so far has been phenomenal, but in order to effectively respond to the Coronavirus outbreak, FareShare will continue to need even more volunteers and funding, to help ensure food continues to reach those most vulnerable.
